In Palimpsest (the role of a mark), small rows of marks are drawn with pen on paper. Five to seven pens of different colors are used for each drawing; the drawing is only complete when each pen runs out of ink.

In the Palimpsest (the role of a mark) series, I draw rows of small marks with a pen on paper. I use five to seven pens of different colors for each drawing, and the drawing is only complete after each pen runs out of ink. I fill the page with marks, and I rotate the page 90 degrees after completing a layer of marks and begin another layer with the next pen. The marks record a passage of time.
