Tribute to Ana is a tribute to Ana Mendietta and her work, mourning her untimely and questionable death. Referencing Victorian “floriography”, I planted seeds of Rosemary for remembrance, Chamomile for patience or “energy in adversity”, and Black-eyed Susan for justice in a mound of topsoil I formed to the proportions and scale of my body.
